Keep the Home Fires Burning
‘Keep the Home Fires Burning’ is set in the war years. Arthur, a retired British Army Officer and the local Home Guard join forces to `do their part’ in helping the troops overseas by attempting to stage a Concert in the village hall.
The ensuing battle between Arthur and the Sergeant Major for the role of Emcee is hilarious, as they set about rehearsing a bumbling Home Guard made up of `Dad’s Army’ and `Are You Being Served’ like characters.
With constant interruptions from Arthurs’ delightfully fussy wife Gladys and the Sergeant Majors’ suspiciously German sounding wife Gretchen, the show is punctuated with many popular wartime favourites for you to sing along with as you remember our fallen soldiers. Its a show that is very comical and very nostalgic all at the right time.
Keep The Home Fires Burning written by Sharon Butterworth. (Who wrote 50 & Fabulous) The Director & Vocal Director will be Sue Morrison.
